Does your dog go CRAZY when you clip his nails?
How many people have to hold him down while you do it?

- I have to hold her down for sure, I would say crazy for after she has a bath! lol
- My dog hates it,it takes 2 to hold him still sometimes 3
- YES!!!!!
- lmao yes he does i do it by myself very tough
- well 1 dog who is 19lbs 1 has 2 hold and the other clip. yes she goes crazy and kicks and scratches. the other dog only takes 1 person.
- There is a new like a grinding machine I saw on TV that wont hurt them.
- I only have to fling my leg over my dog's body to stop her from wiggling away from me but then again she's only 20 pounds so it doesn't take much.
- My dog really hates it.. what I do is put a treat on my lap so that he sees it. I give him one for every paw that I complete. I trained him well so he won't eat it until I tell him to. Just make sure you don't cut the nail too short cause he'll rememeber how much it hurts.
- For a while, it took two of us. Now, they both will put up with it for a time.. then they will try to get away. Not frantically anymore (LMAO at the memories!) but BJ gets this terribly mournful look on his face the minute he sees the clippers.. Ben will lie there for about ten minutes then he just gets up and moves. It takes all I have not to burst out laughing.. if he ever decided he wasn't going to obey.. there isn't a darn thing we could do about it.
- My dog HATES it!! I finally broke down and bought the Peticure nail filer for him.
- Most dogs are finicky about having their feet touched. You can train them out of this by randomly handling their feet and offering them yummy treats when you do this. Also, be sure when you clip the nails I hope you know HOW to do it, the dogs quick of the nail extends down into the toenail and it is very sensitive and it will hurt them a lot if you cut into it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, do some websearches and look at photos and instructions on how to clip dogs nails.
- not so much anymore... I can do it alone, but it's easier with 2 people he used to be worse, but I desensitized him by leaving the clippers out next to some doggie treats and even pretending to clip his nails (hey, it worked)
- Lolz dont worry, i have two little dachshunds and i always have to clip their nails. Yes pretty much all dogs fuss when getting nails clipped. (especially puppy's). I think they do this is because the clipper is very loud and looks sharp, if something was loud to you and sharp you would want to get away right? Well maybe giving the dog a treat or distracting it can help from fuss, hope this helps! Yes i do have to hold them down if i dont distract them
- they go nuts
- That's why I take them to the vet for $5.00 it's worth it. They usually have to muzzle them.
- 2, 1 for holding and 1 for cutting. LOL
- MY boy never minded it, my girls don't want no one touching their feet, we have to do it a little at a time, sometimes I just give in and let the vet do it.
- My Rottweiler hates it, she will growl, so my mom has to hold her head and talk to her. My lil Chihuahua/Beagle on the other hand, although she hates it, I can just flop her on her back and she pretty much surrenders.
- My dog absolutely HATES having his nails clipped. He has to be muzzled, otherwise he will bite you. He's normally such a nice, gentle dog. I really do think the last vet we took him to traumatized him (long story there).
