Why do people ask such stupid questions?Are people really that dumb?

I can't beleive some of the dumb questions on this site.Surely there can't be that many ignorant people in the world.

2. Not all answers are directly proportionate to every question. But first, the Anatomy of a question must be examined. What is a "question?" This is weird because one is forced to use the very entity being examined to examine the question of what a question is. This is an indication that there is something lacking in man's logic or his communication systems or both or something else. The answer is within the answer...never the question. For if we answer before we are even asked, the answer is already there; isn't it? The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind, the answer is blowin' in the wind. Hope you got your answer because I am not answering any more questions in this context nor am I questioning you any further.

11. My friend, as I learned as a professor, there are no dumb questions only dumb answers. Perhaps you will consider this a dumb answer, that is your choice, but people ask questions because they are trying to learn. Considering them dumb for trying to expand their knowledge or learn how to do something seems rather denigrating on your part.

16. Some people ask dumb questions because they think they're funny. Others ask because they truly don't know the answer. Remember, just because you know the answer, doesn't mean everyone else does. Some of these people are young and sheltered, and trying to live life. Be nice, and ignore the questions that are far fetched, and share your expertise with the one's whom need it.

But some people who is asking dumb questions thinks we are dumb and they think they make us dumb by their question if we will answer them. 20. the question became stupid when the one asking is intentionally trying to be dumb/stupid. no matter how stupid the question is, if u dont like to answer, just ignore it. why wasting time to answer if u will just give stupid answers too? better if you will try to impart to the one asking ur best answer for them to learn.. u r not sure if they just wanted to learn and because for you that is a "stupid" question, just ignore it.

22. Simply put, people ask questions because they don't know the answers. It doesn't mean their dumb, just not educated on the subject matter they are asking about. Just out of curiosity, if you think the people asking questions here are ignorant, why did you ask this one? Doesn't that put you right in the middle of the group you just insulted by refering to as dumb and ignorant????

24. What I really don't understand are people who ask Stupid questions and post them in the Pets > Fish category. Is this category that special that people have to ask off topic questions in it? Is the Fish category a special place that means please post off topic questions here? It must mean that in Elbonia. I follow other categories and they don't seem to have the problem... :^) Fish owners must be special?????
25. they might be board but sadly yes their are some ignorant people. I am 14 years old and my mother works at the bank and they ask her some of the STUPIDS questions like "If i open up an account do I have to put money in it" I MEAN DAMN are you that dumb???

Aside from the true jerks, and the ppl to lazy to surf a little or crack a book to find an answer, some ppl's life experience may not have given them the need up until now to know something that some others would consider 1st grade knowledge. As long as we all keep learning...keep asking! There's always something you don't know you will learn and always something you can teach another. Pass it on.
